Reports of the issue are flooding in from various platforms, including Spotify’s community forums, X, and Reddit. The problem appears to impact both Windows and macOS devices, while the mobile app remains unaffected. Some users even report encountering the same issue on the Web Player.

Frustrated Spotify users have taken to Reddit to share their experiences with the ongoing desktop app issue. Despite attempting various troubleshooting fixes, such as reinstalling the app, resetting DNS settings, and changing IP addresses, many have been unable to resolve the problem.
A Reddit user mentioned, “I tried reinstalling, resetting Windows hosts files, changing my IP, using different DNS servers, resetting the router like 10 times… Still no fix.”
Several users reported being able to play songs but unable to access playlists or other sections within the desktop app. One user even resorted to selecting playlists on their phone and streaming them to their PC as a temporary workaround.
Spotify’s support team has acknowledged the issue and confirmed that their developers are working on a fix. In the meantime, they’ve suggested basic troubleshooting steps, such as clearing browser cookies and avoiding VPNs. However, these solutions have yet to provide a reliable fix for many users.
